Our assignment was to generate a last-minute spike of brand awareness and earned media ahead of the 2026 McDonald's All American games in Phoenix, AZ.
On a random Saturday night, Ronald McDonald and Grimace spent their night off hanging out at the most popular pickup basketball court in Phoenix.
No crew, no cameras, no crowds.
Just two hoop fans watching ball on a Saturday night.
Once the conversation was popping, we dropped a video from the brand's owned channel telling the story from Ronald's POV.
To keep our footprint nimble and maintain the core of the idea, the entire production was filmed by 3 members of our team with iPhones. From there, we tapped into a network of micro creators to help spread content captured on the court.
